The Mazda CX-50 release date is right around the corner, and we can’t wait. Your desire for driving joy and a stylish SUV has been catered to with attractive SUV choices like the Mazda CX-5 and more. Now, with the introduction of not one, not two, but three new SUV models, including the Mazda CX-50, that choice is primed and ready to become more attractive than ever before.
We’re excited about this advanced new crossover SUV, and soon you’ll be able to see all that’s attractive in one. We’ll be the go-to Mazda dealer in Jacksonville for discovering the Mazda CX-50, so buckle up and read on for a sneak peek.
The Mazda CX-50 release date will bring two siblings with it: the Mazda CX-70 and Mazda CX-90. The Mazda CX-50 and Mazda CX-70 will be unique models in the lineup, but the Mazda CX-90 is expected to replace the Mazda CX-9. At a glance, the Mazda CX-90 fills in as a premium three-row SUV, and the Mazda CX-70 takes its place as a luxurious two-row SUV. The Mazda CX-50 slots in as a premium mid-size crossover with a similar size compared to the Mazda CX-5.
Made in Huntsville, Alabama, these new SUV models will also bring a new platform and engine. The Mazda CX-50, CX-70, and CX-90 are expected to be offered for sale in 2022. MAZDA hybrid SUV capabilities will accompany them, and so will sleek new style, and much more.
While the others bring a new platform, the Mazda CX-50 will share its basis with the Mazda CX-30. Elevating itself from an already attractive origin, the Mazda CX-50 will focus on both a luxurious and sporty experience, prioritizing driver enjoyment like never before. One of the things that makes that possible is a new engine and drivetrain. Named the SKYACTIV®-X powertrain, it’s expected to propel the Mazda CX-50 with a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six and may combine it with an electric motor to form the Mazda CX-50 mild-hybrid engine.
Much of the powertrain specs have not yet been officially released. Still, informed speculation shows that the Mazda CX-50 will offer an enhanced all-wheel-drive system, along with a rugged yet sleek design that’ll accommodate your active lifestyle and all-terrain ambitions. Other Mazda CX-50 specs include its compact size, expected rear-wheel-drive layout as standard, and possibly LED lighting all around — even across the front bumper.
Using what we know about the Mazda CX-5 and Mazda CX-30, we can speculate what the driving experience will be like. A new powertrain will be plenty of fun, but SKYACTIV®-VEHICLE DYNAMICS with G-Vectoring Control Plus technology that comes standard on those two current SUVs is already immensely thrilling. Using a compact size with big power, we predict it’ll be an agile SUV that can keep up with even sports cars in both the fun factor and performance.
We’ll have to wait for the upcoming Mazda CX-50 release date to get a genuine taste of what the interior will offer, but by using other upcoming models as speculation, we’re certain it’ll be an advanced showcase of luxury and tech. We could see the Mazda CX-50 offer features like a windshield-projected Active Driving Display and cutting-edge updates to the MAZDA CONNECT™ infotainment system. As well, new tech in other upcoming models like the 2022 Mazda CX-5 has been unveiled, such as the Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive).
We may see this advanced driving system in the Mazda CX-50 or a unique variant of it. We could also see — just like in the 2022 Mazda CX-5 — a set of sporty new front seats that’ll keep you snug and secure yet comfortable as can be. Either way, within the 2023 Mazda CX-50 interior, we expect premium materials like Nappa leather to be available.
We expect stand-out safety features to be both standard and available, too. Current features, including Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go, should be offered as standard, while the full range of new, advanced driver assists will be revealed when the Mazda CX-50 release date arrives.
The Mazda CX-50 price is another area without official confirmation. However, it’s another area we can speculate on using the current Mazda CX-5 as a basis. It’s based on the Mazda CX-30 and an equivalent size and segment to the Mazda CX-5.
So, with an emphasis on enhanced performance, luxury, style, and tech, we can assume that the Mazda CX-50 is likely to have a starting price higher than the Mazda CX-5, but not by much. We think it will be a few thousand dollars more, but the Mazda CX-50 release date will either confirm or deny that.
We have an idea of when the Mazda CX-50 release date will take place, but do not yet know the exact day of its debut. Specifically, the Mazda CX-50 will officially be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November 2021. After that, it will go on sale sometime in 2022 for the 2023 model year.
When it does go on sale, we’d be thrilled to take you on a tour and test drive. Stay tuned; as official details emerge, we’ll update this page.
The Mazda CX-50 release date is coming soon. Specifically, this new, advanced crossover SUV will make its debut in November 2021 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. A specific day for when it will be unveiled has not been announced, but we know that afterward, it’ll go on sale sometime in 2022 for the 2023 model year.
No official word on the Mazda CX-50 price has been given as of yet. That said, we do know that it will fill a similar size and segment to the Mazda CX-5 but with a more premium emphasis. Because of this, we expect the Mazda CX-50 to go on sale for a few thousand dollars more than the starting price of a 2021 Mazda CX-5.
Official word on what engine the Mazda CX-50 will use has not been given. That said, its upcoming siblings, the Mazda CX-70 and Mazda CX-90, have had their powertrain details confirmed. Called the SKYACTIV®-X powertrain, they will use a powerful turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six and offer a mild-hybrid system to boot. Whether the Mazda CX-50 will use this or a different engine will be confirmed soon.
